Reuse – and thus the collection of raw materials – is the basis of the circular economy. Collection via underground containers must therefore be easy and, above all, safe for both residents and collectors. VConsyst supports this with various solutions, with the VConsyst Safety Floor being one of the most important safety features. The Safety Floor prevents someone from falling into the concrete pit when the underground container is removed. This is important not only during container emptying, but also during service and repair work.

Adjustable Safety Floor for greater convenience

The VConsyst Safety Floor product family allows our containers to be installed in 80% of existing concrete wells in Europe. The Safety Floors have been developed with retrofit in mind. The Safety Floor is available in three versions: VSF (standard), VSFA (adjustable) and VSFF (for ground level situations).

The VConsyst Safety Floor features removable flaps, a generous 145-degree maintenance position and the ability to rotate the floorboards a quarter turn after installation. This important safety system guarantees reliability, durability and minimal maintenance requirements.

The standard Safety Floor connects seamlessly to the edge of the container’s pedestrian platform and keeps the concrete pit watertight. The adjustable variant (VSFA) has the same advantages, but also offers an integrated adjustment option. This allows the top of the safety floor to be easily adjusted to the height of the pavement. At the same time, the standard depth of the floor boards in relation to the floor edge is maintained, so that the product continues to fully meet the requirements of the NEN-EN13071 standard. This makes the VSFA ideal for retrofitting new containers in existing concrete pits, or in redevelopment projects where the height of the pavement changes. A demonstration model will be available at the fair for you to test for yourself.

For concrete manholes at ground level, the VSFF has been developed. The pit edge acts as an adapter which allows placement of our modular floor elements and containers. The outer edge is walkable and consists of the same material as the pedestrian platform.

Reuse and life extension

Reuse and life extension

Careful use of resources is also important for the products themselves – such as waste bins and containers. The best way is often to use existing products for longer. VConsyst therefore focuses on proper maintenance and refurbishment of older products. Both waste bins and containers are given a second life after thorough inspection and possible refurbishment.

VConsyst has been doing this for over ten years for underground containers and recently also for the well-known Bammens Capitole waste bins. Recent projects on Texel and in the Achterhoek produced dozens of refurbished containers that will last for years again – a sustainable solution.

Sustainably tidy living environment

In this way, VConsyst works with the waste chain to create an effortlessly and sustainably tidy living environment.
