Reuse, and therefore the collection of raw materials, forms the foundation of the circular economy. Collection via underground containers must therefore be easy and, above all, safe, both for residents and collection staff.
VConsyst supports this with a range of solutions, with the VConsyst Safety Floor being one of the most important safety provisions. The Safety Floor prevents anyone from falling into the concrete pit when the underground container has been removed. This is not only important during the emptying of containers, but also during service and repair activities.
Adjustable Safety Floor for greater convenience
The VConsyst Safety Floor product family makes it possible to install our containers in 80% of existing concrete pits across Europe. The safety floors have been developed with retrofit as the guiding principle. The Safety Floor is available in three versions: VSF (standard), VSFA (adjustable) and VSFF (for ground-level situations).
The VConsyst Safety Floor is characterised by removable flaps, a generous maintenance position of 145 degrees, and the ability to rotate the floor sections a quarter turn after installation. This important safety system guarantees reliability, durability and minimal maintenance requirements.
The standard Safety Floor connects seamlessly to the edge of the container’s pedestrian platform and keeps the concrete pit watertight. The adjustable version (VSFA) offers the same advantages, but additionally features an integrated adjustment option. This allows the top of the safety floor to be easily adapted to the height of the surrounding pavement.
At the same time, the standard depth of the floor sections relative to the floor edge is maintained, ensuring the product continues to fully comply with the requirements of the NEN-EN13071 standard. The VSFA is therefore ideal for retrofitting new containers into existing concrete pits, or in redesign projects where the height of the paving changes.
For concrete pits at ground level, the VSFF has been developed. The pit edge functions as an adapter, enabling placement of our modular floor sections and containers. The outer edge is walkable and made from the same material as the pedestrian platform.
