VConsyst and Kiwa Digital Certification team up on digital access systems

VConsyst, supplier of total solutions for waste collection and design of public outdoor spaces, and Kiwa Digital Certification are going to work together on innovative solutions for access systems. First, VConsyst and Kiwa will work on digitizing environmental passes. By using Kiwa’s E-license platform, users of VConsyst underground containers will soon have a digital environmental pass on their smartphone. This is user-friendly and also gives users insight into their depositing behavior, if desired.

VConsyst unburdens its clients in the realization of a tidy living environment. The company is active as a consultant, producer and service provider in the field of waste collection systems and the design and management of public outdoor spaces. VConsyst has two areas of expertise, “outdoor” and “urban mining. The latter refers to the raw materials that can be recovered by properly separating waste. Circularity, sustainability and health play an important role in the services provided by both Vconsyst and Kiwa.

Kiwa E-license platform
In the cooperation between VConsyst and Kiwa Digital Certification, there is a central role for Kiwa’s E-license platform. This enables the quick and reliable digital production and provision of authentication, certification and other (person-related) licenses. The platform meets the requirements of ISO 18013-5, the international industry standard that is currently already being used in several countries as a blueprint for making personal documents (such as driving licenses) available digitally on smartphones.

Benefits
Still this year, the first result from the cooperation is expected: the marketing of a digital environmental pass. Via Kiwa’s E-license platform, such a pass will be made available to users on their smartphones. This offers numerous advantages over traditional plastic environmental passes. For example, the risk of loss is lower and the process of issuing and managing a digital pass is simpler than with a system of physical environmental passes. A digital environmental pass can also be linked to smartphone apps that give users insight into how they handle waste. VConsyst and Kiwa are also looking at other markets to deploy this solution.

User-friendliness
Annet Jochemsen, CCO of VConsyst, is pleased with the cooperation with Kiwa: ‘Thanks to the products, software and electronics offered by VConsyst, the entire collection process of household waste becomes more efficient, easier for users and, above all, more manageable for municipalities. The cooperation with Kiwa Digital Certification thereby ensures a completely reliable system of digital passes that increase user-friendliness.’

State-of-the-art solution
Michael van der Vlies, director at Kiwa Netherlands, is also pleased with the cooperation: ‘With the E-license platform, Kiwa has a state-of-the-art solution that can support many parties in digitizing their personal licenses. This allows the traditional physical products (such as passes) to be replaced by a digital application that is generally more user-friendly, safer and cheaper. The cooperation between VConsyst and Kiwa in digitizing access systems is a good example of this.
