'Waste is the raw material of our future'

July 12, a new underground container for separate collection was unveiled in Amersfoort’s Nieuwland neighborhood by local residents and Alderman Kraanen. The user-friendly and versatile containers are part of the “Reverse Collection of Waste” project launched in Amersfoort.

Reverse collection

Amersfoort will gradually switch to a new way of household waste collection between mid-2017 and 2020. We call this reverse collection. The waste that is reusable will be collected at home by ROVA.
Household waste you can soon sort with containers at home. The containers at home are for paper, vegetable, fruit and garden waste (VGF) and for plastic packaging, metal packaging and drink cartons (PMD). This type of waste can be reused. We therefore no longer call it waste, but raw materials. For the remaining waste there will be underground waste containers. You can dispose of your residual household waste in these containers at any time.
After Nieuwland, the Hoogland and Kattenbroek districts will follow.
