25 years of ROVA

29-05-2021 – A milestone that we don't want to pass by lightly, because ROVA and VConsyst have also had a lasting relationship for 25 years.

And it all started in the year 1996. Halfway through that year, the ROVA and VConsyst boards of directors met and ROVA’s desire for the introduction of DIFTAR was also discussed. DIFTAR stands for differentiated rate. A system for waste collection that records per household how much and what type of waste is offered: the more residual waste, the higher the waste disposal fee will be.

Back in time

VConsyst, at the time a supplier of access control and registration systems for sports facilities, indicated to ROVA that it could develop an access control and registration system for DIFTAR. And so the first cooperation between the two parties was a fact. In 1998, the introduction of DIFTAR started at ROVA and the first deliveries by VConsyst to ROVA began with Chiplock® access electronics and Container Management software WinConsyst WMS Interface.
The need for total solutions became increasingly clear. For VConsyst, that meant adding mechanical components to our solutions. In 2002, we found a perfect match with Schiphorst Milieutechniek, Metro Waste Systems and Machinefabriek Gorredijk. With the addition of the latter company, we not only went broader, but deeper: we started producing underground containers ourselves.

Fast forward to 2021

Today, VConsyst provides ROVA with a total solution. Within the municipalities where ROVA is active, our Metro® collection systems, Chiplock® access electronics, Chiplock® Truck Ident vehicle registration systems and VConsyst Dynamics container management software are deployed on a daily basis. All these products support ROVA daily in the collection of household waste.

Successful collaboration

The fact that both parties have been able to find and strengthen each other for 25 years has resulted in many innovations, new products and the creation of total solutions. ROVA and VConsyst are still working together to improve the collection process. ROVA acts as a valuable partner and is happy to help develop and facilitate pilots to test products and solutions in practice. ROVA and VConsyst enjoy working together, with the shared goal of better waste separation with less residual waste, fewer CO2 emissions and lower costs.
“VConsyst congratulates ROVA on its 25th anniversary and is proud and grateful to have also worked with it for almost as long. With the same values and standards, both are always looking for the common interest. Content knowledge, commitment, trust, responsibility and open communication are important pillars in this,” said VConsyst CEO Edward Rosendaal.
