VCocon
Accessible and comfortable to use
The deposit opening has been deliberately positioned low and fitted with a balanced, double-walled stainless steel flap. The flap opens easily and closes slowly and almost silently thanks to the soft-close mechanism, giving users enough time to dispose of waste safely. The VCocon has been tested and approved by wheelchair users and supports safe and comfortable use for all residents.
The handle requires less than one kilogram of operating force, and the deposit opening is threshold-free, allowing wheelchair users to dispose of waste independently. No thresholds, no obstacles.
The lid closes in a controlled manner and locks securely, helping to prevent odour nuisance and illegal side placement of waste. The chip lock is easy to read, and incorrect use is not possible.
Efficient and ergonomic emptying
The VCocon has also been designed with collection crews in mind. The emptying door is unlocked with a single key at waist height and then opens automatically. The wheelie bin can be removed in a tilted position and rolled out smoothly over a flat base plate. When returned, the container is immediately positioned correctly again, and the door locks automatically when closed.
More compact placement, calmer streetscape
The VCocon is up to 40% more compact than traditional cocons, offering greater freedom of placement, including in locations where sightlines are important. The emptying door is located at the rear, and installation is efficient on a flat concrete base, helping to keep public space orderly and ensuring the VCocon obstructs views less than standard solutions.
